I Wrote A BIG Check!

I wrote a check this morning; a big check posted to myself, dated for a year from now today to pay off my mortgage.

This was inspired by my friend, Amethyst Mahoney who spoke about the book, “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. Read it here: http://positivemagicallife.com/my-law-of-attraction-story

I remember when this book came out several years ago and as Amethyst pointed out there was an incredible amount of hype which surrounded it. Like Amethyst, because of the puffery I steered clear from the book as well as the message.
 "Your wish is my command!"

On a deeper level, however, my spiritual teacher had been giving the very same message for years. In Sanskrit this is called, “Matrika Shakti” which is the power of sounds. When sounds are formulated into words, thoughts, etc., they go into the Universe and manifest. My teacher, therefore, has taught seekers to be “mindful” of spoken words and of thoughts. They manifest.

For many years my subconscious way of thinking was that money was hard to come by, took GREAT effort, was easily lost and was acquired only by the greedy as well as hoarded. With that kind of thinking it was no wonder that I rarely had money, right? At any rate, if one considers the law of attraction which is stated in “The Secret” as well as the laws of Matrika Shakti my thinking that money was beyond my reach provided exactly that.

However, over the past several years I have honored my sense of “wealth.” I have taken care of my money. I am not in debt (other than my mortgage) for instance. Unlike the average American my credit card (notice that this is not plural) is paid off and I don’t have many bills. Over the years I’ve worked on my thinking about debt and in doing this it became important to stay “clean.” In other words, debt free, however, presently I also don’t have a “nest egg” and I do have a mortgage that I’d like to pay off.

Once, while at my teacher’s upstate New York Ashram I got a teaching about the Goddess Lakshmi who represents beauty, wealth, love and abundance. I had been raised in a family of boys with a mother who wanted for me to succeed in what my father termed a “Man’s world” therefore my own beauty was often undermined. I was told that it wasn’t important and could hinder being taken seriously. My teacher, however, is one of the most physically beautiful women who I’ve ever seen. She is also intelligent, refined and is One with God. It dawned on me one day that she doesn’t overlook the gift of beauty. It is a part of her like are her arms and she acknowledges this with appreciation which then allows for her to enjoy it.

I got the message about beauty being a part of what is holy for all of us. I needed to also absorb that this is true for money.

These are hard times presently. People are struggling to find jobs, yet, I wonder if this is purposeful in a rush around world. When we stop and instead go inward we give thanks for what we have. We are grateful even for the smallest things in life and with gratitude there is abundance that elicits a flow. Give with the attitude of gratitude and you will receive more~it’s as simple as that.

I wrote a big check this morning to myself to pay off my mortgage and placed it on my alter where a picture of the Goddess Lakshmi sits.

How about you? Do you believe?

Grab Your Coffee And Read!

The seasons are changing and the days are getting longer. It's the perfect time to sit down with a good book and I've got two wonderful suggestions for you to buy and read!

First check out, "Notes of the Heart" which is a spiritual nonfiction account of how to open your heart to your intuition as your guide. It is a remembrance of what we once all took for granted when children. Do you remember those times when your dreams meant something to you? Can you recall how that little voice within you always had the "right" thing to say? You knew what to do and when to go about this naturally. You didn't ask other people what to do. You were not held back by other people's perceptions because you were strong in your own knowledge that came straight from your heart. It's still there and you can get it back.

Find out how by reading, "Notes of the Heart" today!

Notes of the Heart has been published both as an ebook and is available in print.

You can find Notes of the Heart on Smashwords (at an amazingly low price) where you can buy it for your Kindle, Nook, IPAD and much more! Here is the link~

I think that Notes of the Heart is a wonderful book, but I'd love to have your opinion of it! Please read it and then write your own review! Thanks!

Maybe, however, you favor reading fiction over nonfiction and if this is the case, you might enjoy my next recommendation! It is a fun fictional account of how one young woman's determination for justice changed the lives of all around her. This is titled, "Whatever Happened To Lucy?"

Lucy's life started with distress. She wasn't wanted from the start; she was discarded by her parents and by her community. She was ignored and abused until she got old enough to make changes for herself. However, her choices as a young teenage runaway were not the best, and although she was both beautiful and talented she felt that her destiny was set for her until Miranda's determination to make things "right" found it's way to Lucy's life.

Lucy and Miranda may have shared the same coloring with lilac eyes and hair the color of the darkest skies, but it wasn't until they forged through the horrors of Lucy's life and the destruction of her choices that a friendship deeper than sisterhood was elicited. Out of this came life altering changes for Miranda's entire family and an unexpected love choice.
